I searched online for references and went to work. I put the slices in the freezer so my Herculean fingers wont squish them while I textured the crust. I watched many Cake Boss and Ace of Cakes and I was confident that I could do it. But I had no idea how to start. This was commissioned from a friend of mine for her boyfriend's birthday. I have to thank my friend Iris for letting me use her cake knife. I used edible frosting tint to paint the car and modeling chocolate for the car parts. It took at least 45 min to color, x-acto knife, and put it into the oven for shrinkage. The first two times came out warped and melted into itself which was devastating to watch.
